Man always seeks to connect things, because he has a deep tendency and need for perfect order of things. This need is the part of man`s true nature and the source of his real happiness. Why then there seems to be so much disorder in our lives and why so difficult to attain to real happiness? Could it be that there is something in man apart from his true nature, a kind of "second" nature, that works against his benefit?
We think yes, and what`s more, that the answer lies largely in the existence of Evil, which from the moment of our birth becomes inevitable part of our life.
Now, if one isn`t aware of the existence of something, one won`t deal with it - this is logical! However, if one already sees that there is something that constantly affects his life, but he doesn`t know how or doesn`t want to face it - then it is the right moment to raise questions and get the answers.
"Evil" is D-issue, because our real happiness and fulfillment can come only through evil-free life. So that`s why we want to make this issue as public and central as possible, speaking out of what we all are going through with no exception.
The issue of "evil" touches our inner and most real-self, where either good or bad decisions are made and either one or the other overtakes the lead. It is the place where "evil" can hurt most and leave long lasting effects. The goal of dealing with the the issue of "evil" therefore, in a way is, to prove that man himself can have the power to re-direct his life towards the right goals that suit his real nature and personality and participate fully in making his life meaningful and free.
In other words : freedom is inside us, but it needs to be conquered and this is exactly why "evil" needs to be dealt with, first personally.
As we said above, you can`t deal with something unless you are aware of its existence and you start knowing it. Let`s therefore get down to the concrete and let`s call for the help of those people who have been investigating to break open the reality of evil - giving us enough light to continue seeing through this rather obscure issue!
We thought the best thing is to start with the classical philosophical distinction of "evil", largely accepted and spread even to nowadays, according to which "evil" can be:
1. PHYSICAL
2. MORAL
3.METAPHYSICAL
We have all probably heard of physical and moral evil, and most probably already had quite and experience of both! , but metaphysical evil sounds quite philosophical, doesn`t it? It most probably results completely absent from our everyday dictionaries, thoughts, conversations, for we probably never heard of it or if yes, paid very little attention to. We may even affirm that we have never experienced it! But, is it really like that?
Now this is precisely what we chose to do in AEN! blogs: to talk about this last metaphysical "evil".
Why? Because, it is the least known and comprehensible dimension. But, at the same time, it is "evil`s" very essence, its very foundation and root. Behind many cases of both moral and physical evil there can be the metaphysical evil at work. That is in fact, a conscious will to provoke suffering. Behind it there is a clear, strong and motivated intention to hurt.
In a way we believe that a very large portion of "evil" would stop existing, without this dimension. Saying all this, it comes as natural to say either we know what is going on at the roots - or we don`t know anything at all. So, we decided the time has come to get the solid grip on this intriguing and dark question, for without it, according to us, we don`t have enough real light to deal with evil as a whole! Let us also keep in mind that this journey in discovering "evil" is not purely philosophical, but rather practical, for the it does touch our everyday existence, our past and our future life.
